The maintenance operations are traditionally carried out by Railway Vehicles dedicated to a specific application, that has by nature a limited rate of use.
This system requires a fleet of railway Vehicles covering the various maintenance requirements, which leads to high acquisition and maintenance costs.

SOCOFER offers to its customers an innovative approach :
the MODULARY MAINTENANCE.
Improvement of the profitability of the maintenance operations.

This approach, validated in their contracts by Eurotunnel and Network Rail permits :

To limit the acquisition costs (some carriers and a fleet of modules), the operations’costs (a driver and an operator, easy storage of the modules) and maintenance costs (limited number of powered vehicles)·
To maximise the use of the rolling stock (any type of maintenance modules or ISO containers can be loaded on the carriers).
To ensure the flexibility of the maintenance operations (rapid formation of trains, since the modules are handled by fork-lift trucks).
