Cleaning tracks on the surface and underground in an urban environment is absolutely necessary. On the surface and mainly inside the stations, visible waste (newspapers, cans, cigarette ends,…) are one of the main causes for the non-satisfaction of the customers.
Underground, metro stations and tunnels should be cleared of visible waste, dust and metal particles.
Those equipments are developed in collaboration with the NEU International company within a GIE : ENVIRORAIL.
The Vacuum Train is composed of 3 wagons in charge with the suction, the air filtering and the storage of waste and dust.
The electric power necessary to the suction equipment is supplied either through a Generator Set or through a Static Converter (CVS), embarked in the power car.
The traction of the train is performed by one or several power cars from which the suction is controlled and monitored thanks to a supervision.
Their accumulation has a direct impact upon :
- the reliability of trainborne electronic systems
- the breakout of fires on the tracks
- the interferences with the trackside signalling beacons
- the unhealthiness of stations, and therefore : customer satisfaction and the image of cities and of operators
